After persistent and concerted efforts of the Government of India through the APEDA and the Ministry of Agriculture – the ice has now been broken for sensuous Indian mangoes to stimulate the taste buds of the Australians from next season . As a result of the successful culmination of the Pest Risk Analysis carried out by the AQIS – the Australian Plant Quarantine agency – a green signal has now been received .
Efforts are now on to sign a protocol for export of mangoes to Australia and the first shipment is likely to be flagged off early next season.
